High-Level Meeting Held and Agreement Reached for Trilateral Summit at a 'Mutually Early Date'
The foreign ministries of Korea, Japan, and China have agreed to hold a trilateral summit at the "most convenient and earliest possible time."
The Korea-Japan-China Trilateral Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) was held in Seoul on the 26th, chaired by Jeong Byeong-won, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Korea, with Takehiro Funakoshi, Director-General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nong Rong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in attendance.
Jung Byung-won (center), Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, met on the 26th at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, with Funakoshi Takehiro, Director-General for Foreign Policy of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nong Rong, Deputy Director-General of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to hold the Korea-China-Japan Senior Officials Meeting (SOM).
