The Game Development Challenge is a contest to develop customized learning games for children using artificial intelligence (AI) learning data from Woongjin ThinkBig's elementary and middle school arithmetic app, MathSpeed. Woongjin ThinkBig has been holding this contest annually since 2021 with the aim of discovering new development talent and excellent educational content.
The finals were held in a format where five outstanding teams among the 30 teams that advanced to the main round competed for the final awards through presentations (PT). The judging panel consisted of Lee Jung-hoon, Senior SA Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), the event sponsor; Lee Wan-bok, professor at Kongju National University; Hong Young-gi, vice president of the Korea Indie Game Association; Chun Se-ok, secretary general of the Smart Education Society; and Jeong Hae-soo, head of business at the Korea Edutech Industry Association.
As a result of the judging, the Woongjin ThinkBig Grand Prize was awarded to Team Frontus for developing 'Help Me, Math Solver.' It is a growth-type story game where players solve math problems encountered in daily life alongside cute animal characters. The game received positive evaluations for its unique direction, high completeness, and the inclusion of various mini contents such as gacha, rankings, and quests.
