Jeju Fire Department Conducts On-Site Inspections of Traditional Markets and Logistics Warehouses Ahead of Chuseok

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Kim Su-hwan) announced on the 26th that it conducted on-site inspections of traditional markets and logistics warehouses, where large-scale damage is feared in the event of a fire, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

Chief Kim Su-hwan visited Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market and the Coupang logistics center the day before to check the maintenance status of fire facilities such as hose reel emergency fire extinguishing devices and sprinkler systems, focusing on initial fire suppression and evacuation plans in case of fire.

Through a meeting with related personnel, he urged them to maintain vigilance against fires and make fire prevention a daily habit, while emphasizing special attention to ensure rapid initial response in emergencies.

Chief Kim Su-hwan said, “We will establish a thorough safety net through solid safety measures tailored to the vulnerabilities of each target and ensure a safe Chuseok holiday by making every effort in fire prevention and safety management with prompt on-site response in case of emergencies.”

Meanwhile, the Fire Safety Headquarters conducted fire safety inspections of multi-use facilities and traditional markets in preparation for the Chuseok holiday and established a remote fire safety management plan for fire-vulnerable facilities such as nursing homes.

They are also engaged in meticulous safety management, including safety guidance for residential vinyl houses and other vulnerable residential facilities, as well as fire prevention promotion for the installation of residential fire facilities.
