Shinsegae International is strengthening its imported cosmetics business by adding more famous overseas beauty brands.
Shinsegae International announced on the 26th that it has signed an exclusive distribution contract in Korea with the Italian beauty brand ‘Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’ and will start sales from this month.
With this, Shinsegae International has secured a unique imported cosmetics portfolio by acquiring a total of about 10 niche perfume brands such as Diptyque, Byredo, Santa Maria Novella, and Memo Paris, premium skincare brands like Melin & Getz and Natura Biss?, makeup brands including Hourglass and Laura Mercier, as well as hair and body care brands such as Oribe, Davines, and La Bruket.
Dolce & Gabbana Beauty is the cosmetics brand of the Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, which began in 1992 with the launch of its first perfume, ‘Dolce & Gabbana Parfum.’ Since then, it has introduced popular perfumes such as Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue and The One, leading the popularization of fashion perfumes sold by luxury brands. In 2009, it expanded into makeup with products like lipsticks and blushers, officially entering the cosmetics business.
Since early this year, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty established a separate beauty corporation and shifted from a licensing model to directly operating its beauty business. The Italian headquarters now directly manages everything from ingredient selection, manufacturing, sales, to distribution.
Shinsegae International will first pre-release Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s premium perfume line on the 27th through its own digital platform S.I.VILLAGE. Next month, it plans to expand its distribution network by sequentially entering beauty select store Chicor, health & beauty store Olive Young’s online and offline stores, and KakaoTalk Gift.

Next year, it will open exclusive stores at major domestic department stores and duty-free shops to fully introduce makeup and the niche perfume ‘Velvet’ collection. The makeup line includes face makeup products such as foundation, blusher, and primer; lip makeup products like lipstick and lip balm; and eye makeup products including mascara and eyeshadow. Additionally, the ‘Devotion’ makeup collection, featuring Dolce & Gabbana’s iconic Sacred Heart decoration, will also be launched.
