Gyeongnam Governor Park Wansu: "Form a Dedicated Team for the Daegaya Project"
Differentiated Urban Planning and Long-Term Plans for Talent Development, etc.
"Gyeongnam Province must take a more proactive role in systematically organizing Gaya culture."
Governor Park Wan-su of Gyeongnam Province said this at the heads of departments meeting held on the 25th.
Governor Park stated, "The inscription of the Gaya Tumuli Cluster as a UNESCO World Heritage site is a matter to celebrate together with 3.3 million residents," adding, "We need to establish a dedicated team for the Daegaya Project and, if necessary, set up a Gaya Culture Center to create a comprehensive plan to systematically preserve and organize Gaya culture."

"The southern coast has much better natural scenery than Palm Jumeirah and can be developed into a world-class tourist destination," he added, "We must attract large-scale foreign capital through investment briefings and establish long-term plans."
Governor Park also spoke about the decentralization of university support authority.
He said, "The Glocal University and RISE projects are just examples of decentralizing university support authority," emphasizing, "The core is to clearly define the province's will and plans."
"We should not just rely on the Ministry of Education's guidelines but first establish long-term plans to nurture talent needed in Gyeongnam," he urged.

Regarding the offshore wind power project permit application near Yokjido Island in Tongyeong, he instructed, "The southern coast is a treasure trove of fisheries and tourism is very important here, so the sea should not become exclusive to a specific company," adding, "Analyze from a long-term perspective how much offshore wind power is needed and clearly communicate the province's position to the government."
On the lawsuit loss related to Robot Land, he urged that follow-up measures should not be delayed and efforts should be made to normalize the situation within a short period.
He also requested active review and incorporation into provincial administration of measures to address revenue shortfalls and improvements to the emergency medical control tower, which were raised during last week's provincial council questions and five-minute speeches.
Governor Park said, "During the Chuseok holiday, thoroughly respond to ensure no inconvenience to residents in areas such as transportation, medical care, and rescue services," and added, "Do your best in administrative guidance to minimize price increases for essential goods and service fees."
