Appointment of a Record 143 Advisory Members in Gumi City, Inauguration Ceremony Held

The Gumi City Council of the National Unification Advisory Council (Chairman Kim Guho) held the "21st Gumi City Council Inauguration Ceremony" on the 25th at the city hall auditorium.

View original imageThe inauguration ceremony was attended by about 150 people, including National Assembly member Kim Youngsik, Mayor Kim Jangho, former chairmen of the Gumi City Council of the National Unification Advisory Council, and advisory committee members, brightening the event.
The first part of the event proceeded in the order of ▲presentation of appointment letters and badges to advisory committee members ▲oath-taking by advisory committee members ▲inaugural address by the chairman ▲congratulatory speeches by guests. In the second part, the regular meeting discussed the main activity directions of the 21st term and the promotion directions of various unification activity projects to be carried out in the future.
A total of 143 advisory committee members were appointed this time, setting a record for the largest number ever and enhancing Gumi City's status as a leader in the era of unification. The members will carry out various activities for peaceful unification during their two-year term from September until August 2025.
Kim Guho, the 21st-term chairman appointed following the 20th term, said, "We will establish the council's role for the future of unification and, together with the advisory committee members, carry out field-centered unification projects involving citizens, such as strengthening unification capabilities and supporting North Korean defectors, striving to spread a consensus on unification within the region."
Mayor Kim Jangho said, "I sincerely congratulate the inauguration of the 21st Gumi City Council of the National Unification Advisory Council, and I hope that the advisory committee members appointed today will lead peaceful unification in the local community and work together to establish a correct perspective on unification."
