Jo Eung-cheon "Maximum 39 Members of the Bimyeong Faction... Not Easy to Win Floor Leader Election"
Democratic Party Rep. Cho Eung-cheon KBS Radio Interview
"Party Meeting Not a Situation for Rational Debate"
Regarding the fact that the anti-Lee Jae-myung faction (Bi-Lee Jae-myung) did not run in the Democratic Party floor leader election, Democratic Party lawmaker Cho Eung-cheon said, "It is not that easy to win with about 39 (members)."
On the 25th, Cho appeared on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs' and said, "The numbers were revealed in this (Lee Jae-myung Democratic Party leader arrest motion) vote, roughly about 39 (members) at most."
He continued, "Before the floor leader election, a party meeting is held to announce the party platform and policies, but recently, rational debate within our party is not possible. After the vote on the 20th, two party meetings continued until late at night, and there were almost shouting and slander close to verbal abuse," he said.

Regarding Lee's pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review), he said, "First, if the warrant is dismissed, even if dismissed, the reason for dismissal is based on the premise that the charges are proven and there is no risk of evidence destruction. In that case, the prosecution will face some backlash for a while," adding, "However, if the charges are insufficient or if it is deemed that detention is currently unnecessary, then the legitimacy of the prosecution's investigation will be fully questioned."
He added, "The prosecution was, so to speak, the main force of the Yoon Seok-youl government, but it could be neutralized and possibly mark the beginning of an early lame-duck period for the Yoon Seok-youl administration."
Regarding the issuance of the warrant, he said, "Within the party, the pro-Lee Jae-myung faction will be greatly strengthened, and rather than embracing the anti-Lee faction, it seems more likely that they will expel them and push harder."

Cho also said, "There is a current of thought that says, as promised, they will nominate candidates from prison, they will not step down, and to 'wake up from your dream.' Also, the conclusion of the Lee Jae-myung regime has come to this point. They forced Park Kwang-on to resign by singling him out, but that is not the issue; there will be a direct clash over calls for the entire leadership to resign."
