Sponsored by Changwon Special City, the event was held for 1,000 participants including Changwon citizens, students, and parents to support water supply projects for African children suffering from lack of clean drinking water and breakfast support projects for children facing food insecurity in the Changwon area.

The 6 km course represents the average distance children in underdeveloped countries walk to obtain drinking water. Participants experienced this distance firsthand while engaging in various activities and volunteer work, as well as visiting booths related to various climate change crises.

All participation fees were fully donated, and participants were provided with various souvenirs.

A World Vision official stated, “We hope this walkathon will help spread a culture of sharing within the local community.”
