Gangnam Driver Who Crashed into Utility Pole While Driving Against Traffic Tests Positive for Marijuana
Passengers Also Scheduled for Investigation on Drug Administration
The Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 22nd that driver A tested positive for marijuana after driving the wrong way and crashing into a utility pole in Gangnam, Seoul.
On the 18th at around 11:30 PM, A was driving a white Grandeur passenger car on Dogok-ro in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, when he drove the wrong way and collided with a utility pole. There were three people in the vehicle: male A, another man in his 20s, and a woman. They only sustained minor abrasions.
The Suseo Police Station is considering investigating A for drugged driving under the Road Traffic Act and violations of the Narcotics Control Act. A tested negative for alcohol. The police suspected drug use because the individuals were unable to properly control their bodies immediately after the accident, so they first summoned A and conducted a preliminary drug test that day.
