167 Experience Booths Operated Divided into Four Themes: Exploration, Development, Experience, and Imagination
Gangseo-gu, Seoul, successfully held the career experience program "Dream Job" on the 22nd at Banghwa Neighborhood Park for first-year middle school students participating in the local free semester system.
Co-hosted by Gangseo-gu and the Gangseo Yangcheon Office of Education, and organized by the Gangseo Career and Job Experience Support Center, this event was designed to help students cultivate dreams suited to their aptitudes through various career and job experience opportunities.
The event opened at 9 a.m. with a performance by the dance team from Seoul Aviation Business High School, attended by about 3,400 first-year middle school students.
As a career experience event, it was conducted distinctly differently from typical events, with students serving as hosts and omitting commemorative speeches and guest introductions.
After a brief ceremony including an Artbot dance performance and sending dream postcards to their future selves, the participants immediately began job experience activities.
Students freely visited 167 experience booths set up at the venue, directly engaging in various job activities such as drone piloting, coding, autonomous driving, and virtual reality (VR) technology experiences.
Park, a first-year student at Banghwa Middle School who participated in the program, said, "I have always been interested in drone piloting, and today, seeing and experiencing it firsthand was amazing and fun," adding, "My desire to become a drone pilot seems to have grown even stronger."
The event featured 167 booths organized around four themes: Finding Myself (Exploration), Developing Myself (Growth), Beautiful World (Experience), and Leading the Future (Imagination). A total of 117 institutions, including local public organizations, schools, and private businesses, participated.
Notably, Korea Airports Corporation provided education related to aviation security, the Korea Humanoid Business Cooperative introduced artificial intelligence robot technology, Gangseo Starlight Space Science Museum showcased the world of science and astronomy, and the Korea Youth Robot Federation presented autonomous vehicles and virtual reality, attracting much attention.
The career experience program continues until tomorrow. On the 23rd (Saturday), from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., it will offer career exploration opportunities to about 2,500 local elementary students and their parents.
