Yoo Seung-min: "Approval of Lee Jae-myung's Arrest Motion, a Threatening Change to Yoon and the Ruling Party"
"Yoon's Main Enemy Has Disappeared"
Former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min warned on the 22nd that "a threatening change has begun for President Yoon Seok-yeol and the People Power Party" following the approval of the arrest motion against Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 21st.
On the 22nd, Yoo said on YTN's 'News King Park Ji-hoon' that "with the enemy gone, President Yoon no longer has a justification to designate the Democratic Party as the enemy."
He added, "From President Yoon's perspective, he has not even met with Leader Lee and has dismissed him as a very incompetent person, refusing to engage in dialogue and even exercising veto power to push things through. But now, in a way, President Yoon's main adversary has disappeared. This is a crisis for both President Yoon and the People Power Party," he said.
He suggested that if fresh and capable new leadership returns to the Democratic Party, it could actually bring new hope. Yoo said, "Until now, it was enough to attack the Democratic Party because the party leader had judicial risks and the party was paralyzed because of that. But from now on, what will they attack? If truly clean, fresh, and capable new leadership enters the Democratic Party, then the People Power Party is finished."
Regarding reports that the People Power Party leadership requested the Yongsan aides to be drafted ahead of the general election, he expressed skepticism, saying, "Isn't the party leadership just a bunch of hotbagis (country bumpkins, foolish and ignorant people)? In such a situation, why would the party leadership ask Yongsan to recommend talents? Even if they come with the president's backing and receive nominations, this so-called Yongsan draft might help those people get nominated later, but how would it help win elections, especially in the metropolitan area?"

When asked by the host whether the emergence of non-Yoon factions like former leader Lee Jun-seok or himself is necessary, Yoo criticized the party's response, saying, "Actually, within the People Power Party, in my case, they don't even look at me. The metropolitan area is the most important battleground, and how the People Power Party wins in this region is a huge crisis that should be approached seriously, but it seems they do not recognize it as a crisis."
