Gangseo-gu to Implement 'Chuseok Comprehensive Measures' Until the 4th of Next Month
Focus on Managing Resident Safety, Convenience, and Medical Services
Gangseo-gu, Seoul, is launching the '2023 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures' in full swing. The district has designated a special measures period of 10 days from September 25 to October 4, focusing on seven key areas closely related to residents' lives: resident safety, convenience enhancement, medical care, price stabilization, support for marginalized neighbors, flood and wind disaster prevention, and establishment of public service discipline.
To ensure residents' safety, all efforts will be made to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and manage facility safety. From September 25 to October 4, the Public Health Center will operate the COVID-19 Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and Emergency Quarantine Task Force. During the same period, the Public Health Center's screening clinic for COVID-19 priority testing will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
During the holiday period, fire prevention safety inspections will be conducted in traditional markets and large stores frequently visited by residents, together with experts. Additionally, the traffic task force will promptly enforce guidance and crack down on violations such as illegal parking at violation sites during the holiday period, and quickly receive and handle traffic inconvenience reports.
To maintain a clean living environment, intensive collection of household waste will be carried out until September 27, along with special cleaning of major arterial roads and road surfaces. There will also be focused publicity on the garbage disposal prohibition period (September 28 to September 30), and from October 2, unified garbage collection and cleaning of main roads will be conducted to keep the streets clean.
In preparation for emergency patients during the holiday, the Public Health Center's medical task force will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and four medical institutions (Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital, Bumin Hospital, Wooridul Hospital, Mizmedi Hospital) will run 24-hour emergency rooms to provide emergency treatment.
Furthermore, 85 clinics and hospitals and 146 pharmacies will be designated to operate on a rotating basis to promptly handle urgent patients. Detailed information on medical institutions can be found on the district's website.
During the holiday period, the district will operate a price countermeasures situation room to stabilize prices ahead of Chuseok by focusing on managing essential goods prone to price increases, and will conduct guidance and crackdowns on unfair trade practices such as origin labeling compliance and collusion.
In addition, monetary and gift support will be provided to low-income residents and social welfare facilities before the holiday, ensuring thorough management so that all residents can spend a safe and comfortable holiday without welfare blind spots.
