Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Promotes Citizen Health Centers Utilizing Advanced Technology
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is embarking on establishing a citizen self-health management foundation utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Selected in the ‘2023 Lifelog Health Management Service Operation’ contest led by Gwangju Technopark, the Korea Micro Medical Robot Institute is promoting the construction and operation of a ‘Lifelog (daily information) Health Management Center.’
The purpose of the ‘Lifelog Health Management Service’ project is to create a health management environment where citizens can prevent major diseases on their own.
Based on artificial intelligence (AI) demonstration equipment, it provides various services such as basic health examinations and health status information collection.
The district plans to operate the ‘Lifelog Health Management Center’ for citizen-tailored health management, linked with the core welfare pledge of the 8th local government term, ‘Community Health Care for the 100-Year Life Era.’
Following the contest selection, Gwangsan-gu will receive a total of 800 million KRW over three years starting this year to support the establishment and operation of the health management center.
Together with the Korea Micro Medical Robot Institute, a health management center will be set up at Suwan Culture and Sports Center, providing self-health management services encompassing citizens’ overall lives by adding ‘Gwangsan-type Social Prescriptions’ and integrated care projects to services utilizing AI demonstration equipment.
Social prescriptions refer to providing complex treatments that connect various social services according to the patient’s situation and problems, alongside medical prescriptions from healthcare professionals.

The district plans to create a community communication space to satisfy citizens’ complex needs along with related equipment and operate preventive health management programs suitable for all ages and generations, from youth to the elderly.
