Foreign Worker Preparing to Paint Apartment in Gimhae Falls to Death While Installing Safety Line...
At around 8:25 a.m. on the 20th, a foreign man in his 40s preparing for painting work on the rooftop of an apartment in Gwandong-dong, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, fell and died.
According to the Gimhae Western Police Station on the 21st, Mr. A, a Kazakhstani national, fell while tripping over a ledge as he was crossing a drainage channel to install a safety line before painting work on the 18th-floor rooftop.
Mr. A was immediately transported to the hospital by the 119 emergency medical team dispatched following a report from a colleague, but he ultimately passed away.
During the police investigation, he was identified as an undocumented immigrant who entered Korea on a tourist visa, and this information was reported to the Kazakhstani consulate.
