A Large Aquarium Installed at the 'Ojingeo Game' Studio
Ministry of Culture and Korea Creative Content Agency Open 'Studio M'
Capable of Large-Scale Naval Battle Scenes like 'Hansan'
A multipurpose water studio will be added to Studio Cube, which helps creators and producers showcase their creativity. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will open 'Studio M' on the 21st. It is an infrastructure for special water filming. Construction began in October 2021 and was completed last May. Last month, chroma key and screens were installed, enabling water filming for dramas and movies. The size of the water tank reaches 30m in length and 21m in width, allowing large-scale naval battle scenes like those in the movie 'Hansan' to be produced. The first production to be filmed is the romantic comedy drama 'Naega Saranghan Mulgogi' (The Fish I Loved), inspired by a male mermaid.

Studio Cube was established in September 2017 in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, and has recorded a 100% utilization rate every year. Contents filmed there include 'Squid Game', 'Mr. Sunshine', and 'Kingdom 2'. Following Studio M, a virtual studio equipped with LED walls, in-camera (a technique of filming in real-time in front of LED backgrounds without separate post-production), and special visual effects (VFX) will be built by 2025, becoming a hub for the creation and dissemination of K-content. Kang Susang, Director of the Media Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "Based on infrastructure that strengthens the competitiveness of broadcasting and video content, we will comprehensively support everything from content planning and development to production, domestic and international distribution, and professional workforce training."
