Jin Ok-dong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, will embark on a business trip to Japan immediately after the Chuseok holiday. Chairman Jin is known as a leading "Japan expert" in the domestic financial sector, having worked locally for 18 years.
According to financial circles on the 19th, Chairman Jin will visit Japan on the 2nd of next month to coincide with Financial Services Commission Chairman Kim Ju-hyun's visit to Japan. Chairman Kim plans to visit Japan to discuss financial cooperation between the two countries, including the resumption of shuttle meetings (regular meetings) with Japanese financial authorities.
During this visit, Chairman Jin is expected to attend a dinner with Chairman Kim and Teruhisa Kurita, Commissioner of the Japan Financial Services Agency. Additionally, on the 3rd, he is scheduled to participate alongside Kim Kwang-soo, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks, in a joint seminar hosted by the Korea Federation of Banks and the Japanese Bankers Association.
Having served as Branch Manager of the Osaka branch, President of Japan SH Capital, and CEO of SBJ Bank, Chairman Jin is classified as a prominent Japan expert within the financial sector. In April, he chose Japan as his first overseas business trip since taking office and actively conducted investor relations (IR) activities locally.
