Korea Rail Network Authority Targets Panama Railway Market with 'K Rail'

View original imageOn the 19th, Lim Jong-il, Vice President of the Korea Rail Network Authority, announced that he attended the '2023 GICC event' held at the Parnas Hotel in Seoul and met with Perez Barretto Abdiel, Vice President of the Panama Metro Construction Company, to discuss expanding the entry of Korean companies into the Panama railway market.
The GICC has been held annually since 2013 under the auspices of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, aiming to support the expansion of overseas orders for Korean companies by building networks with major overseas construction clients.
At this event, Vice President Lim held a tripartite meeting with Kim Ki-beom, Head of Division at Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and the Vice President of the Panama Metro Construction Company, creating an opportunity to establish a foundation and human network to support Panama railway development projects based on public-private cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Korea Rail Network Authority is making efforts to promote an invitation training program aimed at strengthening railway technology capabilities for high-ranking Panamanian officials by utilizing Official Development Assistance (ODA).
