BPA Participates in Busan International Architecture Festival's 'International Port City Special Exhibition'
Busan Port Authority (BPA) will participate in the 2023 Busan International Architecture Festival theme exhibition, "Hafencity and Busan North Port, Through Each Other," held at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1 in Busan from the 20th to the 24th.
This theme exhibition is a joint event between Busan Port Authority and Hafencity Hamburg GmbH, marking the first exchange and cooperation project between the two cities following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two organizations in May.
The exhibition features the history of port redevelopment from Hafencity and Busan North Port to the present, introducing the port redevelopment projects of both ports, displaying models, and operating a media room.
By jointly exhibiting Hamburg Hafencity, the largest port redevelopment project in Europe, and North Port redevelopment, Korea's first port redevelopment project, it is expected to be a meaningful opportunity to explore the future development directions of the two cities after redevelopment.
Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, said, "It is an honor to introduce the North Port redevelopment project at the Busan International Architecture Festival, the largest urban and architectural event in Busan," adding, "The main buildings of the North Port redevelopment project were designed with a concept that respects the surrounding landscape of Busan Port North Port so that the park and the sea can naturally connect."
