On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Choo attended the "6th Mid- to Long-Term Strategy Committee 1st Plenary Meeting" held at the Government Seoul Office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to discuss the challenges facing the Korean economy and mid- to long-term policy tasks. He stated, "Major countries are systematically preparing for the future by establishing mid- to long-term strategies based on analysis and forecasts of upcoming challenges. We cannot afford to fall behind."
The Mid- to Long-Term Strategy Committee is an advisory body to the Minister of Economy and Finance for establishing mid- to long-term strategies. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Choo, Chairman Park Jae-wan, and 19 mid- to long-term strategy committee members. A youth advisor from the Ministry of Economy and Finance representing the voice of future generations and experts in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) also participated.

Going forward, the committee plans to broadly gather opinions from the Korea Development Institute (KDI)-led task force, external experts, and youth to present mid- to long-term strategies for Korea's key challenges. The committee's term of activity is until June 2025.
