Geumcheon-gu Installs and Operates AI Radar in San Gisuk Park Public Restroom
AI-Based Intelligent Radar Uses High-Frequency to Detect and Analyze Movements, Identify Dangerous Situations
Police Dispatched When Danger Occurs in Restroom, Pilot Operation Until November
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has installed artificial intelligence-based intelligent radar (hereinafter referred to as intelligent radar) in 10 public restrooms at San-giseuk Park in Siheung-dong and will conduct a pilot operation until the end of November.
Since video devices such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) cannot be installed in restrooms where personal information protection is required, it is difficult to respond to dangerous situations in real time. The intelligent radar finely recognizes and analyzes human movements through high-frequency waves. It can quickly detect dangerous situations even in dark environments through intelligent detection technology.
The pilot operation of the intelligent radar is being promoted in collaboration with LG Uplus.
During weekdays in the daytime, monitoring is conducted by the Resident Safety Division, and during nighttime and holidays, monitoring is carried out by the Geumcheon-gu Disaster Safety Situation Room. When a dangerous situation occurs, it is immediately reported to the Geumcheon Police Station, which dispatches officers to the scene to ensure the safety of users.
Geumcheon-gu plans to operate the intelligent radar until the end of November to verify its quality and performance, collect residents' opinions, and consider full-scale introduction.
