Exhibiting Over 30 Works Including Urban Landscapes at Yeosu Dalbit Gallery
Jeonnam Yeosu-si Gosodong Dalbit Gallery will host the exhibition "Condensed City" by local veteran painter Ju Il-nam until October 29. This marks the sixth regional artist spotlight exhibition this year.
The exhibition presents over 30 works across various genres, including romantic landscapes of small towns remaining behind the gray city, mature portraits, and still lifes, all viewed through the humble perspective of the seasoned painter refined and distilled over a long period.
Yeosu Dalbit Gallery will hold "Condensed City" by local veteran painter Ju Il-nam until October 29.
View original imageIn particular, the highlight is the works that depict the city created through the flow of time and natural phenomena with the artist’s unique feelings and perspective, using a free painting style that transforms the image of the subject based on the distinctive Western painting techniques of the Namdo region, while maintaining the framework of classical painting and composing originality within the canvas.
The exhibited works are also available for viewing online through a ‘Mobile Gallery Tour,’ expanding the boundaries of museum exhibition viewing.
A city official said, “We hope visitors feel the artist’s wish to look at the world more leisurely through stories within the sophisticated and humane small-town landscapes.”

Meanwhile, admission to Yeosu Dalbit Gallery is free, and visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery is closed for lunch from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., every Monday, and during the Chuseok holiday period (28th to 30th).
