Democratic Party: "Lee Jae-myung continues bed fasting... Transfers if condition becomes critical"
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, was urgently transferred to a hospital on the 19th day of his hunger strike on the 18th, and it has been revealed that he intends to continue the hunger strike even from his hospital bed.
Han Min-soo, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, held a briefing in front of Noksaek Hospital in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, where Lee is hospitalized, and conveyed this information.
Spokesperson Han said, "After being transferred to Noksaek Hospital, Lee stated that he would continue the hunger strike from his hospital bed," adding, "This is interpreted as his determination to take the lead in putting a stop to the runaway regime."
He also said, "Lee plans to consume no food except for minimal intravenous fluids."
When asked by reporters about Lee’s current health condition, he said, "The critical situation has passed, but his strength has not recovered at all yet," adding, "(Nevertheless) the leader has stated that he will continue the hunger strike even from his hospital bed."
Earlier, Lee was transferred to Seoul Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital at around 7:10 a.m. that day. After receiving emergency treatment there, he was transferred to Noksaek Hospital for recovery treatment.

Spokesperson Han explained about the hospital, "Noksaek Hospital has specialists experienced in hunger strike treatment and is fully equipped with facilities to support such treatment; it was recommended by the medical staff."
