This year marks its 6th edition.
Changwon Special City enhanced its status as a youth-friendly city by winning the policy award as an ‘Excellent Youth-Friendly Basic Local Government’ for the first time this year.
In 2022, the city established the ‘Youth Policy Division,’ a dedicated department for youth policies, aiming to ‘create a vibrant city where youth gather.’ It is carrying out various projects for youth in areas such as ▲establishing youth housing and self-reliance foundations ▲supporting youth employment and establishing an industrial talent development system ▲mental health care and support for youth job-seeking activities ▲creating a youth solidarity base and participation infrastructure.
In particular, to support isolated youth, which has recently emerged as a social issue, the city completed a survey in June and enacted related ordinances. Additionally, as part of a Gyeongsangnam-do public contest project, it is developing the ‘Changwon Youth Culture Street’ in the Yongho-dong Garosu-gil area.
