Jeongeup-si to Conduct 'Special Crackdown on Environmental Pollution Activities' Starting from the 21st
Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 18th that it will conduct focused monitoring from the 21st of this month to the 6th of next month to prevent environmental pollution activities such as unauthorized wastewater discharge and foul odors.
The city plans to focus inspections on wastewater discharge facilities in pollution-prone areas, including large wastewater discharging businesses such as slaughterhouses, meat processing, food processing, and wastewater consignment companies, as well as asphalt concrete (Ascon) manufacturers that emit large amounts of fine dust.
Jeongeup City will conduct intensive monitoring to prevent environmental pollution activities such as unauthorized wastewater discharge and odor from the 21st of this month to the 6th of next month.

Before the Chuseok holiday, the city will start by guiding businesses to cooperate with self-inspections of environmental pollutant emissions, strengthen monitoring and patrols centered on vulnerable businesses and areas, and conduct special inspections of discharge facilities in pollution-prone areas.
During the Chuseok holiday, the city plans to conduct frequent patrols of industrial complexes and surrounding rivers and other areas at risk of pollution, as well as establish and operate a situation room to prepare for environmental pollution accidents.
Baek Geundae, Director of the Environmental Policy Division, said, “We will strive to prevent illegal environmental pollution activities during the vulnerable Chuseok holiday period through thorough management of environmental pollution facilities.”
