Sejong-si Rewards Citizens Reporting Two-Wheelers Violating Traffic Laws
Sejong City will implement the ‘Safety Report Reward System’ until November this year, rewarding citizens who report two-wheeled vehicles violating traffic laws.
According to Sejong City on the 18th, the Safety Report Reward System operates by rewarding citizens who report two-wheeled vehicles violating traffic laws such as riding on sidewalks or crosswalks, using mobile phones while driving, not wearing helmets, signal violations, reckless or drunk driving, after review by a deliberation committee.
Anyone can report safety violations through the smartphone Safety Report app or the portal. Rewards are given to citizens who have reported 20 or more two-wheeled vehicle safety violations, based on a combined score of the number of reports and the acceptance rate of the processing results.
Until November, citizens ranked 1st to 3rd in the number of reports and acceptance rate of processing results will receive between 500,000 KRW and 300,000 KRW (with a 100,000 KRW difference per rank), those ranked 4th to 8th will receive 200,000 KRW each, and an additional 20 runners-up will receive 100,000 KRW each on a graduated scale. The rewards will be provided in the form of local currency Yeominjeon.
