Democratic Party to Kim Gi-hyeon: "Reflection and Reform Come First"
Kim Ki-hyun "Request to Lee Jae-myung to Stop Fasting"
The Democratic Party of Korea responded to People Power Party leader Kim Ki-hyun's request for Leader Lee Jae-myung to stop his hunger strike by saying, "If you truly care about Leader Lee and are concerned about the future of the Republic of Korea, reflection and reform at the regime level should come first."

He added, "No government has ever failed to show even the most basic human courtesy regarding a hunger strike. Moreover, the Yoon Seok-yeol administration has not changed (even after the hunger strike). It is further fueling ideological confrontation and focusing the direction of state affairs on protecting the regime."
In a written briefing, Spokesperson Park harshly criticized nominee for Minister of National Defense Shin Won-sik. He said, "The birth of a Defense Minister from the asphalt right-wing will lead to the politicization and far-right shift of the military."
Spokesperson Park stated, "He even previously defended military coups such as May 16 and December 12. Is the Yoon Seok-yeol administration dreaming of politicizing the military? Shin should have been the first to be eliminated during the personnel screening process," he claimed.
Regarding President Yoon Seok-yeol's remarks at the Incheon Landing Operation victory ceremony that "communist forces and others are threatening liberal democracy through false fabrication and propaganda," Spokesperson Park said, "Are you planning to waste five years engaging only in 'ideological wars'? Please specifically explain where communist sympathizers exist in 21st-century Korea."

Concerning the Board of Audit and Inspection's interim audit results on the "Moon Jae-in administration's statistical manipulation," he called it "a typical political audit aimed at diverting public opinion," and claimed, "It is a self-appointed problem solver to turn around public opinion worsened by issues such as Japan's nuclear wastewater discharge, the relocation of General Hong Beom-do's statue, and the death of soldier Chae Sang-byeong."
