Gwangju Seo-gu Council Enacts Ordinance for Operating Policy Advisory Group
The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 16th that the "Policy Advisory Group Operation Ordinance," proposed by Councilor Kim Hyung-mi during the 314th extraordinary session, has passed the relevant standing committee.
The "Policy Advisory Group" is planned to be operated for a more developed Seo-gu by facilitating smooth council operations and reflecting diverse residents' opinions through proposals or consultations on council affairs and current issues of Seo-gu Council.
In particular, this ordinance was established for the first time in Gwangju to contribute to discovering professional and effective policies by forming and operating subcommittees with private experts in construction, culture, economy, environment, welfare, and other fields.
The ordinance mainly includes ▲ the purpose and functions of the Policy Advisory Group ▲ the composition of the Policy Advisory Group ▲ the operation plan of the Policy Advisory Group meetings.
Councilor Kim said, "The Policy Advisory Group is expected to play a significant role in transforming the council into one equipped with expertise for the welfare and happiness of Seo-gu residents," adding, "We will strive to share and study major issues of Seo-gu through the operation of the Policy Advisory Group and ensure that practical policies are researched and discovered."
