Wooty Appoints Song Jin-woo, Baemin Vietnam Business Head, as New CEO
UTI announced on the 15th that it has appointed Jinwoo Song, former head of Baedal Minjok's Vietnam business, as its new CEO.
CEO Song graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Business Administration and completed an MBA program at IMD in Switzerland.
He is an expert with over 18 years of experience in various fields including tech platforms, FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), leading numerous new business developments and corporate turnarounds through innovative solutions that concretize business problems.
Before joining UTI, he worked at Samsung Electronics Europe headquarters and consulting firm McKinsey, and later joined domestic private equity firm KDB Investment, driving value growth for major domestic construction companies. Until recently, he served as head of Baedal Minjok's Vietnam business at Woowa DH Asia, leading profitability improvements and business development.
UTI plans to accelerate domestic business expansion and innovation in user and driver experiences in the second half of the year, leveraging the appointment of the new CEO.
Pradeep Parameswaran, head of Uber Asia-Pacific, said, "We are very pleased to announce the appointment of CEO Song. We expect that Song's rich experience, leadership, and expertise will drive UTI's growth by building on the foundation of innovation established by the previous CEO in the domestic mobility market."
