Gominjeong: "Lee's Hunger Strike Still No Response, Presidential Office Crossed the Line as a Group"
Opposition Supreme Council Member, YTN Radio Interview
"Request for Kim Gi-hyeon to Stop Fasting? If So, Come Here"
"A Weak Government Reaching Out to MB Since Early in Its Term"
Ko Min-jung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Kim Ki-hyun, the leader of the People Power Party, who requested to stop Lee Jae-myung's hunger strike after half a month, saying, "If you are going to do it, shouldn't you come and do it yourself?"
In an interview on the 15th with YTN Radio's 'News King Park Ji-hoon,' Ko said, "The physical distance is not far, and it looks like a trick," adding, "If you are going to do it, it is common sense to come and do it face to face." She continued, "This is just basic common sense, but such regrets always follow."
Ko also addressed the Presidential Office, saying, "Many people around are continuously advising against the hunger strike, but so far, the Presidential Office has shown no movement or message, which makes me think they have crossed the line as a group," adding, "We have no intention of begging, and although this was not unexpected, it is a somewhat bitter moment confirming the coldness of the Presidential Office once again."
Regarding the second cabinet reshuffle replacing the Ministers of National Defense, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Gender Equality and Family, she said, "It is not a reshuffle but a deterioration."
She criticized, "The moment I saw the list of the three candidates?Kim Haeng for Minister of Gender Equality and Family, Shin Won-sik for Minister of National Defense, and Yoo In-chon for Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism?I thought President Yoon ultimately cannot create his own Korea. Usually, in the late term of a government, someone reaches out to a faction, but seeing him reach out to former President Lee Myung-bak from the beginning of his term makes me think this is a very weak government."
