KCC Holds Completion Ceremony for Women's Shelter in 'Goryeoin Village Facility Environment Improvement Project'

View original imageOn the 15th, KCC announced that it had created a women's shelter for the Koryoin community settled in Gwangju in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Korea.
At the completion ceremony held on the 13th in the Koryoin Village of Gwangju Metropolitan City, key figures including Lee Cheon-young, principal of the Koryoin Village, Shin Jo-ya, representative, Lee Kwang-hee, Secretary General of Habitat for Humanity Korea, and Lim Geun-hong, head of KCC Gwangju branch, attended the plaque unveiling ceremony and toured the newly established facility to celebrate the occasion.
This Koryoin Village facility environment improvement project aims to improve the poor residential environment facilities of the Koryoin Village to support the stable settlement of Koryoin compatriots, providing a dedicated space for the recently increasing number of single women compatriots.
The newly established shelter applied KCC's high-performance and eco-friendly windows with high energy efficiency, and improvements to the residential environment such as wallpapering and furnishing were also carried out. Additionally, KCC donated 100 million won in residential environment support funds last May to provide a stable living environment for the village residents.

A KCC official said, "We hope that the newly established women's shelter in Koryoin Village will become a warm haven where the living conditions of the compatriots can be improved," and added, "Furthermore, we hope that the village residents will always be happy and enjoy a better life."
