Samsung Electronic Billboard Operates at St. Peter's Square in Vatican
Reinstallation after Demolition of Japan Panasonic Site after 16 Years
A large Samsung Electronics LED screen has been installed at St. Peter's Square in the Vatican, which is visited by millions of people every year. The LED screen installed by Japan's Panasonic in 2007 was removed after 16 years and replaced with a product from a Korean company.
On the 14th, Samsung Electronics announced through its newsroom that the installation work for the Samsung Electronics outdoor LED screens at St. Peter's Square was completed the previous day (local time). The screens began operating with the general audience event presided over by Pope Francis at St. Peter's Square on the same day.

There are a total of four Samsung Electronics outdoor LED screens. Two screens measuring 7.935 m wide by 4.83 m high are installed on both sides of the square, and two screens measuring 5.865 m wide by 3.105 m high are installed inside the square.
The LED screens are LED (light-emitting diode) signage products. They provide clear and vivid image quality even outdoors under strong sunlight. They are also resistant to temperature and humidity.
The Samsung English logo is engraved in a small and faint color at the bottom of the screens. Considering the religious nature of the location, the Samsung logo was kept as discreet as possible.

The installation of the Samsung Electronics LED screens was initiated after Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong met with Cardinal You Heung-sik, the Prefect of the Vatican's Secretariat of Clergy, in July last year.
