Chairman Gu Ja-yeol Requests Support for Busan Expo at Dinner with Ambassadors to Korea
Martial Arts, Central Asia, Europe, and Latin America Diplomatic Corps Invitation Dinner Held
Gu Ja-yeol, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), held a "Networking Dinner with Ambassadors from Central Asia, Europe, and Latin America" on the 14th at the Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, requesting support for the bid to host the 2030 Busan World Expo. He also exchanged views on ways to strengthen mutual economic cooperation with the resident ambassadors and diplomats.
The dinner was attended by over 70 ambassadors and diplomats from 41 regions in Central Asia, Europe, and Latin America. On the Korean side, about 30 people, including Chairman Gu, KITA chairpersons, and representatives of member companies, were present.
In his dinner speech, Chairman Gu said, "In the face of global challenges marked by ongoing conflicts and discord, cooperation and exchange between countries are greatly threatened," adding, "We must wisely overcome the various crises scattered today through continuous communication and harmony." He continued, "In the face of global challenges such as climate change and social polarization, the 2030 Busan World Expo can present a vision of a great transformation toward a better future for humanity," urging support from all countries.
He also stated, "KITA faithfully serves as a bridge for economic exchange through trade and solidarity between countries," and added, "We will actively support the creation of new business opportunities for companies through various occasions in the future."

Last year, KITA also held four networking events inviting resident ambassadors, providing opportunities for exchanges between Korean companies and foreign diplomatic envoys in Korea, thereby supporting the establishment of a private trade diplomacy foundation and the expansion of economic cooperation. Next month, KITA plans to continue promoting the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo and private exchange activities by hosting a "Networking Dinner with ASEAN and Middle East Ambassadors in Korea."
