- Various cultural performances including Nanta and Gugak, delivering moving moments with passionate performances by the elderly
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the ‘Heung~hari Gwangjin! Hanmadang Music Festival,’ a cultural and artistic performance event to communicate with residents.
The event, held on the 13th at Naru Art Center, was filled with the enthusiasm of the audience. Despite the hot weather last summer, 600 residents, including on-site workers and volunteers who quietly did their best, were invited to enjoy a variety of cultural performances and share a joyful time.
First, the event opened with an energetic performance by the senior Nanta club ‘Ondal and Pyeonggang.’ Following that, Ms. Choi Jeong-hee, a woman in her 70s who raised three grandchildren and fulfilled her dream of becoming a singer by releasing music, passionately sang.
Afterwards, dazzling stages by professional performers and celebrities were presented. With the cheerful hosting of comedian Shim Hyun-seop, various genres such as fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), B-boy, and trot delighted the eyes and ears of the audience.
In particular, the atmosphere was heightened with exciting performances by Hwang Min-ho and Kim Da-hyun, who gained fame through trot audition programs, and Park Hyun-bin, who has numerous hit songs.
The audience shared their impressions, saying, “I was deeply moved by the passionate performances of the seniors,” and “It was a happy time laughing and enjoying with neighbors living in the same neighborhood.”
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “I hope today’s music festival was a restful time to put aside the busy and hectic daily life and find some leisure,” adding, “We will continue to create various opportunities for communication and harmony through culture and the arts.”
