Kim Jong-min "Yongsan Totalitarianism... Even Democratic Party Lawmakers Are Surprised"
Opposition Lawmaker in CBS Radio Interview
"If Investigation Interference Is True, Grounds for Presidential Impeachment"
Kim Jong-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed that "if this is true, it is grounds for the president's impeachment" regarding allegations of external pressure on the investigation into the death of Marine Corporal Chae.
On the 13th, Kim appeared on CBS Radio's 'Park Jae-hong's One-on-One Match' and said, "If an order came down from Yongsan and despite the existence of the Military Court Act, the issue of Corporal Chae was distorted, it would be a violation of the law," adding, "If true, this is undeniable."

He said, "Even within the People Power Party, there are anonymous reactions of surprise at the appointments of candidates like Yoo In-chon (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and Shin Won-sik (Minister of National Defense)," adding, "But no one is publicly raising issues about this, and they are just giving a free pass." He continued, "This kind of Yongsan-led unilateral governance will not last long because the Republic of Korea is a democratic republic."
Regarding Lee Jae-myung's hunger strike, Kim said, "I told him to stop unconditionally," adding, "I heard indirectly that the doctor who treated him during his ten-day hunger strike as mayor of Seongnam said that if he had delayed even one day, it could have been a very serious situation."
He added, "If the leader of the first party went on a hunger strike, his will has been sufficiently conveyed," and emphasized, "The goal of the hunger strike is to awaken and repent the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, but it will not end with the hunger strike, so ultimately, we must fight and be with the people," stressing the priority of health recovery.
In response to the ruling party's criticism that Lee's hunger strike is a 'shield hunger strike' to block the arrest consent motion, Kim said, "When someone is on a hunger strike, it is natural for everyone to worry and offer comfort," criticizing, "No matter how ruthless politics is, you don't conduct politics ignoring personal milestones."

However, regarding the growing opposition within the party to the arrest consent motion, he said, "If the rejection of the arrest consent motion is decided because of the hunger strike, it would be a perfect situation to be criticized as a shield hunger strike," adding, "It is not appropriate to even discuss that the hunger strike would change the vote on the arrest consent motion."
