Muan County Council Appoints First New Civil Servant Selected Independently Since Personnel Authority Independence
Selected in the 2nd Jeollanam-do Local Government Public Competitive Recruitment Examination
The Muan County Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun) held the '2023 Muan County Council New Civil Servant Appointment Ceremony' at 10 a.m. on the 14th in the chairman's office and presented an appointment letter to one newly appointed civil servant (Administrative Grade 9).
This appointment is the first new civil servant appointment made since the implementation of the revised 'Local Autonomy Act' on January 13 last year, which granted independent personnel authority to local councils.

The appointment ceremony was conducted with the participation of the chairman, council members, and the head of the administrative department, including the presentation of the appointment letter, civil servant oath, and encouragement from the chairman. The new civil servant will be assigned to the council secretariat and will be responsible for supporting the operation of council sessions.
Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun stated, "It is particularly meaningful that the Muan County Council independently selected and appointed a civil servant for the first time since the independence of personnel authority in local councils." He added, "As the era of local decentralization progresses and the roles and functions of local councils gradually expand, I hope you will carry out your duties with pride and responsibility."
