Hyosung Corporation is accelerating the establishment of hydrogen refueling infrastructure in Seoul in partnership with Seoul Energy Corporation.

On the afternoon of the 13th, Hyosung Corporation signed a "Business Agreement for Cooperation on Hydrogen Refueling Infrastructure and Clean Hydrogen Power Generation" with Seoul Energy Corporation at Hyosung’s Mapo headquarters. Through this MOU, Hyosung and Seoul Energy Corporation plan to collaborate on hydrogen refueling station construction projects to lead hydrogen mobility, develop carbon-free clean hydrogen power generation projects, and discover urban-type renewable energy projects.

This MOU was established with the goal of transforming "Seoul" into a leading city for hydrogen mobility as the distribution of hydrogen vehicles and hydrogen commercial vehicles expands in the future. Hyosung is focusing on building the hydrogen value chain from green hydrogen production to hydrogen refueling stations at the group level.

Lee Sang-woon, Vice Chairman of Hyosung, stated, "We consider it very meaningful to collaborate with Seoul Energy Corporation on hydrogen refueling infrastructure and clean hydrogen power generation projects to expand the hydrogen market base," adding, "We hope to further strengthen cooperation in the renewable energy sector by utilizing Hyosung’s renewable and hydrogen engine power generation fields."

Hyosung Group is actively promoting ▲expansion of R&D to secure the stability and reliability of hydrogen production and refueling facilities ▲development of blue hydrogen and green hydrogen extraction technologies that emit no CO2. Additionally, together with the global industrial gas specialist Linde Group, Hyosung is doing its best to build a value chain encompassing liquefied hydrogen production, transportation, and installation and operation of refueling facilities.

At the site within Hyosung Chemical’s Yongyeon Plant, a liquefied hydrogen plant with an annual capacity of 13,000 tons is scheduled to be completed.

Meanwhile, Hyosung Group also participated in "H2 MEET 2023," the world’s largest hydrogen industry specialized exhibition held from the 13th to the 15th. Through this exhibition, visitors can experience the current status of the global hydrogen business and Hyosung Group’s activities within the hydrogen value chain offline.
