Suwon Transfer Center Has Changed Completely
The somewhat dark and sparsely populated underground space of Suwon Station Transfer Center has been reborn as a 'space for citizens.'
Recently, Suwon City completed renovation work to transform the underground floor of Suwon Station Transfer Center into an 'eco-friendly green space.' A total project cost of 565 million KRW was invested.
Suwon City installed green artificial turf on the waiting room floor and rectangular block-shaped seats for citizens to comfortably rest. The eight circular pillar walls on the first basement floor were decorated with green plants such as table palm, coralberry, and pothos.
The meeting room available for citizens was expanded to 112㎡ (previously 67㎡) and remodeled neatly.
A Suwon City official stated, "The underground space, which had few pedestrians and was dark, has been transformed into an eco-friendly green space," adding, "We hope it will become a place for citizens to stay, rest, and meet."
Suwon Station Transfer Center, which serves as a transportation hub for Suwon City, opened in 2018.
Located between Suwon Station (AK Plaza) and Lotte Mall (136 Sehwa-ro, Gwonseon-gu), the transfer center consists of one basement floor and two above-ground floors.
On the second floor above ground, there is a bus transfer station, while the first floor houses an indoor bicycle parking lot with space for 150 bicycles and a taxi stand.
