Wando-gun's Agricultural Processed Products Embark on First Export Route to China
Export of 3 Products Including Biwa Wine, Concentrate, and Colored Barley Coffee
Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do held a ‘Wando Agricultural Processed Products First Export to China Commemoration Ceremony’ at the Wando Bipa Agricultural Cooperative Processing Factory on the 8th.
The ceremony was attended by about 50 people, including Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, Heo Gung-hoe, Chairman of Wando County Council, Park Jae-seon, County Council Member, Park Hong-jae, Director of Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services, Lee Bok-seon, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, Lee Moon-geol, CEO of China JHE Global, Kim Soo-man, CEO of Bipa Agricultural Cooperative, and Oh Jin-young, CEO of Yuja Power Plant.
According to the county on the 12th, this export was promoted after Wando-gun was selected for the ‘Jeonnam Agricultural Food Export Expansion Marketing Board Development Project’ by the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services.

The export products are three types made using representative agricultural products of Wando: Bipa wine, Bipa concentrate, and colored barley coffee. They are shipped from Gwangyang Port through JHE Global and distributed to Xi’an, Shanghai, Wenzhou, and other cities in China.
The products will be promoted and sold both online and offline, and it is expected to contribute to increasing farmers’ income by expanding overseas sales channels.
Meanwhile, Wando-gun signed an agreement to export six types of products by the end of this year, including Bipa beverages and wine, colored barley coffee, colored barley seaweed noodles, Yuja jelly sticks, and abalone Bipa beverages, as a result of more than 10 consultations with China JHE Global to promote the excellence of Wando’s agricultural specialties.
Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “The export of Wando agricultural products to Malaysia, the United States, Russia, and China is the result of the sweat and efforts of farmers,” expressing gratitude to the farmers attending the ceremony and adding, “We will spare no administrative support so that Wando agricultural products can be recognized for their excellence in more overseas markets.”
Lee Moon-geol, CEO of JHE Global, said, “The Wando agricultural processed products imported this time will be sold at the China Yangling Agricultural High-tech Fair, the largest expo in China,” and added, “We will make multifaceted efforts such as promotion to enhance the competitiveness of Wando agricultural processed products in the Chinese market.”
Wando-gun has been pioneering export routes for agricultural products since 2017, exporting ‘Wando Natural Rice’ to Malaysia, the United States, and Russia in 2018. In particular, it signed an agreement to export 1,000 tons (worth 3 billion KRW) to Russia over 10 years.
