Seongnam-si to Renovate Signboards Damaging Urban Aesthetics
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is conducting a maintenance project for ownerless signs to prevent safety accidents and create a pleasant urban landscape.
According to Seongnam City on the 12th, Bundang-gu is accepting applications for the maintenance project of ownerless signs until the 25th of this month. This includes old signs left unattended due to business closures, signs at risk of disasters, and pole-mounted signs abandoned on sidewalks and roadsides.
Building managers and owners can apply, and after submission, the Urban Landscape Division will conduct on-site inspections to make the final selection for maintenance.
Last year, Bundang-gu maintained 114 old and hazardous signs through this project. In the first half of this year, 80 signs were also organized.
Sujeong-gu and Jungwon-gu also carry out annual maintenance projects for ownerless signs left unattended.
Sujeong-gu completed maintenance on 21 signs in the first half of this year. In the second half, they plan to receive applications for 22 signs and complete their removal within this month.
Jungwon-gu maintained 25 ownerless or disaster-risk signs in May of this year.
