Haenam-gun Selected for New and Renewable Energy Distribution Convergence Support Project Competition
Support for Solar Power and Solar Thermal Facilities for 498 Households Including Gyeokgok and Masan Next Year
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been selected for the Renewable Energy Supply Convergence Support Project, conducted by the Korea Energy Agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, for the fourth consecutive year.
According to the county on the 11th, through this project, a total budget of 4 billion KRW, including 1 billion KRW in national funds, will be invested in 2024 to install solar power and solar thermal facilities for 498 households in Gyegok, Masan, Hwangsan, Sani, Munnae, and Hwawon myeon.
By expanding the supply of renewable energy for four consecutive years, an eco-friendly energy self-reliance foundation is being established, significantly reducing the economic burden on local residents.

Installing a 3 kW solar power system can reduce electricity bills by 40,000 to 50,000 KRW per month on average, which has received great response from residents.
This year, the project is being promoted with a total budget of 3 billion KRW targeting Samsan, Hwasan, Hyonsan, Bukpyeong, Bukil, and Okcheon, installing 391 solar power sites with 1,173 kW capacity and 56 solar thermal sites covering 571.2㎡.
