Gwangju Seo-gu to Conduct Comprehensive Inspection of 'Road Lighting Facilities' Until the 15th
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 11th that it will conduct a comprehensive inspection of lighting facilities on major roads and alleys in the district in preparation for the upcoming Chuseok holiday.
Seo-gu has formed two inspection teams to carry out daytime and nighttime inspections of 18,994 streetlights and security lights by the 15th, aiming to provide convenience to holiday travelers and ensure safe road traffic use and nighttime walking for residents without any inconvenience.

Seo-gu will check the lighting status of streetlights on roadways and security lights in alleys, inspect distribution boxes, lighting control devices, and the operation status of ground fault circuit interrupters, and plans to complete maintenance of any faulty facilities before the Chuseok holiday.
Additionally, an analysis of nighttime brightness using a light meter will be conducted on alley security lights, including the one-room apartment area in Pungam-dong, and additional security lights will be installed in locations where lighting is insufficient.
A Seo-gu official stated, “We will do our best to improve the brightness of road lighting in the district to ensure a safe and comfortable holiday period without any inconvenience.”
