Yoga Instructor Says "At First Glance, It Could Be Mistaken"
A couple in the UK caused a commotion by calling the police, mistakenly believing a mass murder had occurred after seeing people lying down inside a building. It was later revealed that the people lying down were yoga students holding poses.
On the 10th (local time), according to The News International, BBC, and others, a couple in Chapel St Leonard, Lincolnshire recently mistook people lying down inside a building for victims of a mass murder and reported it to the police.
At the time, the yoga students were lying down with their eyes closed in the 'savasana' pose. Commonly called the 'corpse pose,' this posture involves lying down with arms and legs spread out.
The couple, looking through the building's glass window, mistook the scene for people who had lost their lives lying on the floor and immediately called the police.
Yoga instructor Millie Rose (22) explained in an interview with the BBC, "While teaching seven students, two people with a dog were watching the yoga class through the glass window," adding, "The students were lying down covered with blankets and had their eyes closed. It was also very dark there." She further said, "From outside, I can see how it might have been mistaken for a mass murder."
The Seascape Cafe, where the yoga class was held, also shared the news on Facebook. The cafe stated, "If you recently heard police sirens, please rest assured," and added, "Someone reported a mass murder in our building, but it was actually a meditation yoga class."
