View original imageThe Thessaloniki International Fair in Greece is the largest international fair in Greece, held annually with participation from 18 to 22 countries worldwide. It serves as a meeting place where Greek political leaders meet citizens to discuss economic and political agendas, and it is a comprehensive exhibition showcasing various industries including technology, innovation, environmental protection, education, leisure and tourism, information and communication, sports, and power and energy.
Since its first event in 1926, it has established itself as a highly popular fair in the European region. Proving its popularity, on the opening day (the 9th), the Greek Prime Minister, key officials from various government ministries, and many visitors attended.
This year’s fair is scheduled to run until the 17th local time.
The current promotion is taking place over nine days from September 9 to 17 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center, the site of the Greek International Fair, where the Korea Pavilion and the 2030 Busan World Expo Promotion Pavilion have been set up.
These two pavilions introduce not only Korea’s excellent industries and culture as a candidate country for hosting the 2030 World Expo but also the charm and capabilities of Busan, the candidate city for the 2030 World Expo, along with the main and sub-themes and the guiding values of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The Korean Industry Content ZONE consists of ▲ Korea-Greece economic, diplomatic, and cultural exchange zone ▲ 2030 Busan World Expo introduction zone ▲ 2030 Busan World Expo promotional video zone ▲ Busan Initiative Platform introduction zone.
Using graphic images and promotional videos based on traditional Korean motifs, the pavilion maximizes visual effects and has gained great popularity among visitors.
Additionally, promotional videos vividly showcasing the present and future of the candidate site ‘Bukhang’ and content revealing the hidden charms of Busan, selected as a world-class international tourism city, are impressing locals and firmly establishing the image of Busan, Republic of Korea.
Along with this, the pavilion is designed in various ways to embody Korea’s past, present, and future.
The pavilion’s frame is shaped like traditional Korean roof tiles, a representative Korean image.
At the left side of the entrance, lighting graphic images using promotional designs featuring a scholar and an empress with the phrases “I have come to participate in the Expo” and “The Expo is ready” visually maximize the determination to host the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The scholar and empress in the promotional designs wear traditional Korean clothing and explain Korea’s history of participating in world expos, the will to host, and the justification for hosting, emphasizing that Busan is a prepared country (city) to hold the World Expo.
Furthermore, professional exhibition guides specializing in the 2030 Busan World Expo have been stationed at the pavilion to help visitors easily understand explanations related to the 2030 Busan World Expo.
This promotional activity holds even greater significance as Korea has never before participated in this fair.
The pavilion is located in Hall 13 of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center, where the guest of honor country and embassies are concentrated and various events are held, attracting a large flow of fair visitors, making it an optimal location for promotion and support expansion.
Through the pavilion, the promotion goes beyond simply advertising the 2030 Busan World Expo; it also creates a space for cultural experiences and information exchange between Korea and Greece, expected to attract considerable attention from Greek government officials and ambassadors from various countries.
