Renault Korea Collaborates with Startups on Future Car Technologies
Renault Korea Motors announced that starting from the 11th, it will hold a Startup Open Stage for one month in collaboration with the Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center and the Korea International Trade Association. They plan to discover and collaborate on future car ideas, such as hybrid and electric vehicles, that Renault Korea is preparing, together with promising early-stage startups.
The program is divided into two tracks: the domestic track, Renault Korea Open Innovation, in partnership with the Seoul Creative Economy Innovation Center, and the global track, Fortune 500 Renault Item Open Innovation, in collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association. Applications can be submitted in five categories: Connected Car, a service area including vehicle infotainment; In-car User Experience (In-car UX), a technology field contributing to enhancing customer experience; Eco and Mobility, an advanced technology field including new materials and batteries; Smart Factory, related to building smart manufacturing environments; and other technology fields contributing to changes in the mobility ecosystem.
Proposals from startups selected through screening will have the opportunity to be applied to Renault Korea’s future car technologies through collaboration contracts. They can also receive up to 10 million KRW in funding for proof of concept. Mentoring from relevant departments within Renault Korea is also available. If selected as a Renault Group item, startups will receive support for overseas expansion.
