Yoon Jae-ok: "Calling Taeyoung-ho, who holds liberal beliefs more than anyone, a red... The opposition must apologize"
The Democratic Party Submits Disciplinary Proposal Against Park Young-soon for Verbal Abuse Toward Tae Young-ho
The People Power Party demanded disciplinary action against Democratic Party lawmaker Park Young-soon for using expressions such as "trash" against lawmaker Tae Young-ho.
On the 8th, Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader of the People Power Party, said at the floor strategy meeting, "During Tae Young-ho's government questioning on the 6th, some Democratic Party lawmakers used abusive language such as 'red,' 'collaborator,' and 'trash,'" adding, "Although loud abusive language is a recurring issue in the National Assembly, considering the content of the questioned issues and the abusive language used, we cannot help but express concern."
Floor leader Yoon stated, "Lawmaker Tae demanded active efforts to protect the human rights of North Korean residents and criticized the Democratic Party's irresponsible attitude of ignoring the recommendation of the Human Rights Foundation personnel for seven years," and introduced, "In response to such questioning, they flew into a rage and unleashed abusive language and personal attacks." He added, "(Lawmaker Tae) is a lawmaker who escaped the North Korean dictatorship, embraced the Republic of Korea, personally experienced the preciousness of liberal democracy, and raises his voice to protect those values," and criticized, "It is nonsense that the Democratic Party, which has refused to recommend directors for the North Korean Human Rights Foundation out of concern for North Korea's feelings, threw the word 'red' at Tae Young-ho, who holds a firm belief in liberalism more than anyone else."
He said, "Using harsh expressions toward a fellow lawmaker is impolite, and I worry that North Korean-born residents who have become members of society might be deeply hurt by such words. We demand appropriate measures and an apology from the Democratic Party regarding this."

He added, "The Democratic Party should severely discipline the lawmaker who made abusive personal attacks as Tae demanded; that is the minimum duty toward the people."
The day before, lawmaker Tae visited Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, who was on a hunger strike in front of the National Assembly main building, demanding the expulsion of lawmaker Park. Through social media, he also stated, "I hope lawmaker Park keeps in mind that calling me 'trash' in a public place was directed only at lawmaker Park and the North Korean Kim Jong-un regime," and claimed, "This incident is an insult not only to me personally but to all defectors and, furthermore, to all displaced persons who came down from North Korea during the Korean War."
Lawmaker Park responded via social media, saying, "If President Yoon Seok-yeol and lawmaker Tae first apologize for their criticisms and insults toward the opposition party, I will also apologize," and stated, "President Yoon effectively labeled the opposition as 'anti-state forces,' and lawmaker Tae called 168 lawmakers and Democratic Party members 'trash.' Their apologies should come first."
