Busan City Hosts 'Joint London Investment Briefing by FSC, Local Governments, and Financial Sector'

Busan City announced that on the 13th at 10 a.m. local time, the ‘Joint London Investment Briefing by the Financial Supervisory Service, Local Governments, and Financial Sector’ will be held at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel in the UK.

View original imageThis investment briefing is a large-scale event held for the first time through collaboration between the Financial Supervisory Service, Busan and Seoul?Korea’s financial centers?and six financial companies to promote the internationalization of Korea’s financial industry.
About 230 attendees will include the Financial Supervisory Service Commissioner, Busan Deputy Mayor, Seoul Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, delegations from six financial companies (Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, Chairman of Mirae Asset Securities, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, President of Samsung Life Insurance, CEO of Korean Re), the Korean Ambassador to the UK, UK Deputy Foreign Minister, British Ambassador to Korea, head of Korea Investment Corporation, Director of Busan International Financial City Development Center, executives and employees of overseas investment firms, and investors.
At this investment briefing, the hosting organizations plan to actively promote the strengths and investment attractiveness of Korea’s financial industry, as well as Busan and Seoul as Korea’s financial centers, to UK government officials and overseas investors.
London, a global financial city, is home to numerous financial and investment institutions from around the world, so the investment ripple effect from this briefing is expected to be significant.
In particular, Busan City will introduce its excellent financial infrastructure and innovative policies in the digital finance sector to UK government officials and overseas investors, highlighting Busan’s development as Korea’s financial center and a gateway city to Northeast Asia.
Through this, the city aims to attract interest in entering and investing in Busan and to build strategic relationships for continuous exchanges.
Additionally, Busan will actively introduce digital finance companies growing in the city to explore pathways for Busan financial companies to enter the global market.
This will create a precedent that digital finance companies successful in Busan can also succeed globally, thereby strengthening the growth and competitiveness of Busan’s digital finance companies.
The Busan International Financial City Development Center will also participate in the investment briefing to discuss joint research projects with Z/Yen, a UK financial expert institution that manages the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI).
The Busan International Financial City Development Center is promoting joint research projects with Z/Yen on the potential convergence scope of financial products such as fintech.
They also plan to hold in-depth discussions with Michael Mainelli, the elected Mayor of the London Financial District, and representatives from Level39, a UK fintech promotion institution, to foster strategic relationships and promote the development of Busan as a financial center.
