Kim Dong-kwan Drives Eco-Friendly Ship Sales in Singapore Following Poland Success
Discussion on Collaboration with Energy Companies at 'Gastech 2023'
Kim Dong-kwan, Vice Chairman of Hanwha, has embarked on a global journey between Europe and Asia.
On the 7th (local time), Vice Chairman Kim participated in the 'Gastech 2023' exhibition held in Singapore, where he met with executives of global energy companies to discuss business cooperation. Following his submarine sales meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda at the Polish defense exhibition on the 5th, he is now focusing on eco-friendly ship sales.
Vice Chairman Kim explained to executives of global energy companies about the eco-friendly energy and digital technologies possessed by Hanwha affiliates such as Hanwha Ocean and Hanwha Power Systems, and sought cooperation in the construction of eco-friendly energy carriers such as LNG and future clean ammonia and hydrogen carriers. The Gastech event is the most prestigious exhibition related to eco-friendly ships and energy, attracting 40,000 visitors annually, with over 750 companies from more than 100 countries participating this year.
Hanwha Ocean exhibited four types of eco-friendly ships at this exhibition: the Greenship LNG carrier, which drastically reduces greenhouse gas emissions; the ammonia-powered ammonia carrier; the liquefied carbon dioxide carrier; and the LNG-FPSO, a floating LNG production, storage, and offloading complex facility built by Hanwha Ocean for the first time in the world.
Vice Chairman Kim toured the next-generation eco-friendly LNG carrier, unveiled for the first time at this exhibition, and said, "We will continue to invest in solutions that lead the future marine market."
