Shinhan Bank Opens Financial Education Center 'Hakijae'
Shinhan Bank announced on the 7th that it has opened a financial education center called ‘Shinhan Hakijae’ in Namdong-gu, Incheon. The opening ceremony was attended by Shinhan Bank President Jeong Sang-hyeok, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, Park Yong-ryeol, Chairman of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Incheon Branch, and Kim Mi-young, Director of the Financial Consumer Protection Department at the Financial Supervisory Service.
The name Hakijae is derived from the first chapter of the Analects, ‘Is it not a pleasure, having learned something, to try it out at due intervals?’ At Hakijae, Shinhan Bank provides various digital financial education and device experience opportunities that offer practical help to customers such as seniors who are not familiar with digital and non-face-to-face finance.
Specifically, it offers ▲digital financial device experiences using educational ID cards and bankbooks ▲mobile app SOL experience through educational tablets ▲experiences with everyday kiosks found in places like restaurants and train stations.
In addition, Shinhan Bank conducts financial fraud prevention education jointly produced with the Financial Supervisory Service to safely protect the assets of customers such as seniors from financial scams including voice phishing, pharming, and smishing.
Furthermore, experiences with digitally implemented photo printers, game tables, and virtual reality (VR) devices are also provided to add fun to the process of seniors and various customers becoming familiar with digital technology.
Shinhan Bank plans to actively cooperate with Incheon Metropolitan City in the future to utilize ‘Shinhan Hakijae’ as a digital education venue and free resting place, among other spaces for Incheon citizens, practicing financial consumer protection and inclusive finance, and sincerely fulfilling its responsibilities as the city’s treasury bank and coexisting with the local community.
