Key Executives Attend Directly to Share Company Vision and Discover Talent
LG Uplus announced on the 7th that it will hold the global talent recruitment event ‘LG Uplus US Fair’ in Los Angeles (LA), USA, over two days on the 9th and 10th. At this US Fair, LG Uplus plans to actively discover global talents, including master's and doctoral graduates (or expected graduates) from major U.S. universities such as UCLA, Texas A&M, and Georgia Institute of Technology.
Participants with diverse majors such as electronics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, industrial engineering, statistics, and psychology will attend this event, where talents in ▲Artificial Intelligence (AI) ▲Software (SW) Development ▲Autonomous Driving ▲Metaverse ▲MBA fields will be recruited. Attendees were selected through a process including document screening, coding tests, and first-round interviews (online) starting from July. Key executives related to technology, including LG Uplus Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) Yang Hyo-seok, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Lee Sang-yeop, who is responsible for strengthening new business technology capabilities such as metaverse, and Chief Data Officer (CDO) Hwang Gyu-byeol, who leads AI technology development, will also attend in person.
Since declaring its transition to a platform business last year, LG Uplus has been focusing on discovering talents to promote new businesses. This year, LG Uplus plans to hold 'LG U+ TECH+ U+ (Uplustechple)', a developer conference to introduce its AI and SW technological capabilities and strengthen networking with internal developers for the first time. Last year, LG Uplus held an AI competition in collaboration with AI specialist company Upstage and offered benefits such as exempting the top 10 teams from document screening and coding tests during the company’s new employee recruitment, among various activities to attract talents related to new businesses.
