Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) is operating the ‘2023 Atopy Healing Forest Experience Classroom’ for children.
The ‘Atopy Healing Forest Experience Classroom’ is a project aimed at providing children with opportunities to experience urban forests using local community environmental resources and alleviating symptoms of environmental diseases such as atopic dermatitis. It is conducted annually in cooperation with the National Institute of Forest Science at Hongneung Forest.
This program will be held a total of 8 times from September to the end of October, with 157 children from kindergartens and daycare centers participating in the Atopy and Asthma Safe School project.
The children will watch allergy prevention animations such as ‘Atopic Dermatitis Explained by Teacher Malgeum’ and ‘Atopic Dermatitis is Always Clear,’ and receive customized education using allergy-related workbooks. They will also participate in forest education programs with a forest guide exploring the Hongneung Experimental Forest, including activities like ▲Forest Treasure Hunt ▲Find Seeds and Fruits ▲Rolling Acorn Journey.
